Benin City 13th April 2021
Plans are in top gear to mark the World Earth Day 2021 in Edo State under the auspicies of Edo Dynasty United Organization Worldwide in conjunction with JCI Edo Bronze and Creative Merry Makers.
The four days event is scheduled to commence on the 22nd day of April 2021 in an Environmental Sensitization Awareness Rally in major Edo Cities.
The project is scheduled to climax in a Clean-up Edo City Exercise on Saturday 25th Day of April 2021.
According to a statement released by the founder and president of the organization, Comrade Brown Ehigie Osemwengie also made available to Radio Esan in Benin City, “the four days event is aimed at inculcating the doctrine of environmental care, cleanliness and tree preservation in the consciousness of Edo people. The event will climax in an outright Clean-up Edo Cities Exercise in which members of my organization will actually take brooms, shovels, wheelbarrow and waste disposal trucks to some Edo cities to do the cleaning. This will be done in collaboration with stakeholders. Letters have been sent to stakeholders including the Governor, Ministry of Environment, the Waste Management Board, LGA Authorities, Traditional rullers, and religious organizations across the state, seeking for possible areas of partnership and support”, he disclosed.
Osemwengie added that “the important of cleanliness in our cities cannot be underrated. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. In addition, the campaign will also rebroadcast the need for tree planting and preservation to strengthen the soil in our ecosystem while reducing soil and gully erosion”, he opined.
Osemwengie wholeheartedly appealled to stakeholders and members of the organization to key into the project and support with prayers, cash, and ideas saying “the duty to build the Edo State of our dream and preserve her environment and natural resources is a collective task of all Edo sons and daughters”.
