Two Suspects Linked To Multiple Murders Arrested In Edo State

Men of the Anti kidnapping And Cybercrime Unit of the EDO state police command have arrested two suspects linked to the abduction and murder of a businessman in OLOGBO EDO state.
The suspects have been on the police wanted list.
Sunny ETCHIE was allegedly abducted and murdered in OLOGBO, Edo state, in July 2020 by some persons.
Twelve suspects were earlier arrested, including Johnson Atseleghe and were arraigned in a Benin High court in EDO state for abduction and murder.
The twelve suspects are currently standing trial while others were declared wanted.
Akpani Isaiah and Sunday Bokiti, popularly known as “Amama”, were fingered in Johnson Atseleghe’s murder.
The late Sunny ETCHIE had his hands and legs tied with a strong rope and big stones before throwing the lifeless body into the river.
According to a report, one of the suspects, Sunday Bokiti, has now been linked to the gruesome murder of another victim, Mr Okomoson Omorodion, in 2020.
Men of the Zone five police headquarters in BENIN city had earlier identified him as a SUSPECT in connection with the murder case.
One of the suspects said, “Sunny ETCHIE has already been killed before my friend Oluwa called me. I only followed them to the scene where he was dumped in the river”.
Edo State Police Public Relations Officer SP Bello Kontongs assured that the two SUSPECTS would be charged to court soon.
According to the police image maker,” we will continue to clamp down on all those fingered in the abduction and murder of Sunny ETCHIE”.
