Sidney Emoyon Oseghale Foundation Unity Football Tournament: Ward 1 and Ward 5 to lock horns for supremacy in The Final Match

It will be a very entertaining and decent game on Sunday 25th July, 2021 in Irrua when ward 1 will lock horns with ward 5 in the supremacy final match of who will lift the first edition of Sidney Emoyon Oseghale Foundation Unity Football Tournament for wards in Esan Central Local Government Area Of Edo.


The final match which will hold at Eguare Primary School field in Irrua.

Speaking to newsmen, Chairman of the competition’s Organising Committee, Hon. Felix Ibhade, said various trophies and other prizes would be presented to various players and best team at the event.

He said: “The occasion will have HRH. Alahji. W. O Momodu, the Ojirua of Irrua as the Royal Father of the day, the chairman of the event is Sen. Clifford Ordia, senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District. Special guest of honor includes, Hon. Joe Edionwele, Hon. Sergius Ogun, Hon. Barr. Osarodion Ogie, SSG Edo State, Prince Joe Okojie, Hon. Anslem Ojezua, Mr. Theophilus Okoh, Hon. Anthony Aziegbemi and other notable dignitaries.

“There will also be trophies for the Highest Goal Scorer of the tournament, the team with the best Fair Play record, Best Coach of the tournament, Most Valuable Player of the tournament and Best Goalkeeper of the tournament, among others.”

The President and Founder of Sideny Emoyon Oseghale Foundation, Mr. Sidney Emoyon Oseghale told newsmen in Irrua that he is excited about the competition, describing it as a huge success so far and a testimony to the fact that hard work always yields positive results.

According to him, the success achieved by the organisers of the tournament is a result of sleepless night within the last one month of the competition and today Sunday will be great.”

“I am extremely excited and very happy the way it turned out to be a huge success,”Mr Sidney Oseghale said. This tournament is about the Unity of the people of Esan Central local government area. It is about the community. it is about all of us. There is something in sports that helps to promote peace and brotherliness”.

He said he was happy to create the platform that brought the people of Esan Central together to share the moment of excitement together in the spirit of sports to promote peaceful coexistence and today Sunday which is final will be a great day.

He commended the local organizing committee members under the leadership of Hon. Felix Ibhade who he said have made their own contributions towards the promotion of peace through the competition.
