ETSAKO EAST LEADERS REPOSES A VOTE OF IMPLICIT CONFIDENCE ON OBASEKI, SHAIBU, AND DOKPESI.
May 17, 2021
In an expanded meeting of Etsako East Local Government Area Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party held today, May 17, 2021 in Auchi, Edo state, the leaders described the present crisis in the party as very condemnable and uncalled for.
After much deliberations, it was unanimously resolved that a vote implicit confidence be passed on His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, and High Chief Dr. Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi.
Speaking in a highly emotional manner before raising the motion which was well seconded and adopted in unison, immediate past Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Moses Agbukor urged the Deputy Governor of Edo state to swiftly disregard the actions of those writing epistles and calling for his resignation as Deputy Governor, as a mere ‘ Water off the duck’s back’ as they are apparently on a ‘ Journey to Nowhere’.
He described the Obaseki-led administration as a blessing from God, while urging him to remain focused as usual in the dispensation of good and effective governance to the good people of Edo state, and never to be distracted by the detractors and other traducers whose motives are always very mercenary and greed-driven.
To this end, it was unequivocally resolved by all attendees and on behalf of the party leadership that;
(1.) The Etsako East leadership of our great party holds the party and the government of Edo state ably being galvanized effectively, in a high esteem and thereby call for peace, tranquillity, cohesiveness which engenders development.
(2.) We further reiterate our unalloyed loyalty and solidarity for the exemplary leadership and governance of Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, and our amiable High Chief Dr. Raymond Dokpesi.
(3.) Appreciating the immense contributions of High Chief Dr. Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi in ensuring the sustenance of this party in Etsako East Local Government Area, and by extension Edo State, it becomes very imperative for us to accord him his due respect and honour due to him, as attempting to attempt killing the goose that lays the golden egg is akin to ‘ Okonkwo’s having a hand in Ikemefuna’s death’ particularly when it is very obvious to even the deafmute, that he is only being vituperated for saying the truth the way it is. We are however not surprised as we take solace from the words of a great philosopher, Plato, who said , ” No man is more hated than he who speaks the truth”
In view of the above resolutions, we therefore repose our vote of implicit confidence on His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki, his loyal and digital Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, and High Chief Dr. Raymond Dokpesi, in the overall interest of Edo state, our great party, and Nigeria at large.
