Rt. Hon. Onobun said this at a press briefing shortly after the inspection of the ongoing reconstruction of the Anthony Enahoro House of Assembly complex on Thursday in Benin city.
He said when completed, the improved facility will have an E-parliament where citizens can view live broadcasts of plenaries on it’s official website and other social media platforms.

According to the Hon. Speaker, “What we seek to achieve is to see that we have E-parliament. As we sit down to discuss the business of the day as it relates to the good people of Edo state, they can watch Live from the comfort of their homes or work place as long as they have access to the internet. Even when they are not available at the point when we are doing the business of legislation, at their own convenience they can visit the website of the Edo state House of Assembly and watch our business for the day”.

While expressing optimism about speedy completion of the project, he appreciated the executive Governor of the state, Governor Godwin Obaseki for his utmost support and facilitation. He also assured that the new facility will give Edo a face lift, stand the test of time as it will be properly monitored and overseen by a team of Public Facility management.

“With the level of transparency of the government of Edo state, the Governor is giving us all the required support we need to get this place done very quickly and We are not just building structures, we are building structures that will stand the test of time that is why we partner with outstanding credible firms. There is an agency responsible for the management and maintenance of public buildings, they are to supervise and ensure that these structures stand the test of time, to see that these structures outlive us because that is what we have to show to Edo people who pay taxes.” He said.
