Our source gathered that the Oba of Benin had approve the installation of one Prince Osabohien Eguaghedion, to be the Okao of Ubah, and the installation was due to take place this Friday, but some persons from his extended family are kicking against the decision and are bent on spilling blood and destruction as they outrightly reject the decision, saying that their father is supposed to be the Okao.

According to the Prince Osabohien, who spoke to Wonderful media, on Monday, himself and others in his camp visited the palace of the Okao, where his installation was due to take place, to make some preparation ahead of Friday installation, when some of his second cousins with many heavily armed men accosted them and started threatening to kill him especially, as the “cult boys” brandish their guns and cutlass.

Initially he took it as a joke until the youths pounced on them destroying their plastic chairs which they sat on and inflicting injury on them with cutlass which made them to run for their dear lives.

However Osabohien said, he went to Ugbekun Divisional police headquarters and the 4 brigade headquarters in Benin to make a report, and have since mobilized armed security operatives back to the community to bring the situation under control. He further disclosed that one principal suspect who he named Joseph Agbonlahor was arrested in the process.

Though he alleged that the Odionwere of the community have a hand in the attack but the security operatives didn’t arrest the Odionwere.

The Okao appealed to relevant authorities in the state to come to their aid and maintain peace and order, before, during and after the installation ceremony coming up this week Friday, adding that nobody is above the law.
